Climate Bridge has opened its first office outside of China in Chennai, India. The office was set up to co-ordinate Climate Bridge's projects throughout India. The India office will be managed by BA Madhusudhan and Sanjay Anugula, leveraging the extensive experience of the global Climate Bridge operations to deliver the very best possible service to Indian project developers. Details of the Indian office can be found in the "Contact Us" section of this Web site.

Alex Wyatt, CEO of Climate Bridge, gave the keynote address today at a CDM conference in Haikou, capital of Hainan Province in south China today. The conference, organised in co-operation with the local NDRC in Hainan, brought together project developers, government officials and carbon market professionals for the 2-day weekend seminar. Mr. Wyatt's opening address, delivered in Chinese, focussed on the distinction between the compliance markets for CER credits and the voluntary market for VER credits from the perspective of the local project developers.

Alex Wyatt, CEO of Climate Bridge, addressed the French Camber of Commerce today in Shanghai. Mr. Wyatt's morning address forcussed on the fundamentals of doing CDM projects in China, and explaining the various ways in which international companies like Climate Bridge can contribute to environmental protection in China through their activities in the gloabl carbon markets.

ABN Amro - Climate Change and Carbon Markets (Sydney, Australia): Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge, joined Craig McBurnie (ABN AMRO), Roger Beale (Allen Consulting) and Philip Millichamp (New Zealand Government) for a broad-ranging discussion on the design and linkage of emissions trading schemes, and the threats and opportunities to business in Australia and New Zealand.

United Nations Colloquium of University Presidents (New York, USA): Cameron Hepburn, representing the University of Oxford, contributed to sessions at New York University on climate change policy, chaired by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, prior to the Bali COP.? Cameron spoke on when carbon taxes are preferable to emissions trading.?? The group discussed the likely shape of the deal at Bali, and reached a set of conclusions concerning the key contributions that Universities can make to the mitigation and adaptation of climate change.

Economist: Global Perspectives on Climate Change (London, UK): Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge, participated in global thought-leader discussion organised by the Economist that began in Singapore, moved to London and then concluded in New York.? In each city, a small group of experts in climate change and the business response debated several key themes, including choice of policy instruments (carbon taxes or emissions trading), consumer behaviour, and the design of long-term international architecture to facilitate emission reductions at scale.

EuroFinance 2007: Opening Keynote Speech (Vienna, Austria): Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge, shared the platform with ABN AMRO¡¯s Head of Transaction Banking, Anne Boden, and presented on ¡°Climate Change Brings New Commercial Opportunities¡± to a packed audience in Vienna of over 2,000 CFOs and Treasury executives.? Cameron and Anne addressed developments in climate change science and policy, before discussing some emerging threats and opportunities for global businesses, noting that climate change is now a core business issue for CEOs, and is increasingly important for CFOs.?

AMCHAM Shanghai Sustainability Conference(Shanghai, China): Alex Wyatt, CEO of Climate Bridge, spoke today at the AMCHAM Sustainability Conference on the topic of modern environmentalism, climate change and the carbon markets. The speech was set in the context of a range of green initiatives discussed at the conference over the course of the day, ranging from green buildings, to clean energy, and energy efficient living. Interestingly, during the session on the carbon markets, Alex shared the platform with Dr. Jonathan Woertzel, a director of McKinsey & Company, and a former colleague of Alex's during his own days with McKinsey in Shanghai.

Climate Bridge has opened its first regional office in Lanzhou in July, 2007. The office was set up to coordinate projects in Gansu Province, as well as other western provinces nearby. Gansu is rich in renewable energy resources. As a major city in western China, Lanzhou has developed fast in recent years and is ready to play a more important role in China's energy related issues. Now, more and more CDM projects are developed in western China, especially in Gansu Province. In order to promote renewable energy and improve energy efficiency, Gansu has established various CDM related consulting companies. Climate Bridge is the first buyer operating locally from Lanzhou.
Our Lanzhou office has three full time employees and two part time employees. They are dedicated in their work and devoted in saving our climate. -

Climate Bridge director, Dr. Cameron Hepburn, spoke on a panel addressing the topic "Analyzing the importance of model flexibility to handle fluctuating supplier data" to an audience of the retail, FMCG and supply chain industry at the Carbon Footprint Supply Chain Summit, with his remarks focussed on issues arising from managing and offsetting carbon along the supply chain. The Carbon Footprint Supply Chain Summit is the very first carbon management forum specifically devised for the retail and FMCG industry and tackling the key supply chain issues unique to this sector. It will discuss different methods for carbon emission reduction and offset in order to understand the most effective and accepted tactics to be proactive to these growing environmental issues.

Dr Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge Ltd, presented on threats and opportunities from climate change and the carbon markets at the ABN AMRO Australian CEO Forum in London, whose membership includes CEOs of eight of Australia's largest companies. The Forum bringing together Australian business leaders in London for meetings, presentations and workshops with senior figures, leading economists and fund managers, while also providing the opportunity for Australian, European and UK CEOs to meet for discussions of mutual benefit.

Dr Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge Ltd, joined the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, John Prescott, in Prague to present to the Czech-British Youth Forum: Climate Change - responsibility of generations. Supported by the British Council, the event was designed to encourage cross cultural communication on climate change, and was timed to coincide with the launch of the Czech-language edition of the Stern Review. Three of Dr Hepburn's MSc students were also selected to present some of their preliminary research at the Forum.

Alex Wyatt, CEO of Climate Bridge, spoke at the MIT Clean Energy in China Forum today - http://www.mitenergyinchina.org/. The forum, co-ordinated by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, brought together leaders from all over the world to discuss China's energy situation and its pathway towards a cleaner, greener future. Mr. Wyatt spoke alongside some of the biggest names in the energy sector (http://www.mitenergyinchina.org/speaker.asp) and led the forum through some of the ways in which carbon trading, and carbon offsetting in particular, could help to green China's energy supply.

Alex Wyatt, CEO of Climate Bridge, this morning spoke at the Economist magazine's Corporate Network event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai. The theme for the morning's session was "sustainability" and Mr. Wyatt took the group through the basics of the Kyoto Protocol, carbon neutrality and project additionality. Alex's presentation was followed by a lively question and answer session, and it is hoped that the Economist will help to provide even more public visibility for the various ways in which individuals can make a difference to the climate change problem - both by minimizing energy usage in their day-to-day lives and by offsetting the remainder of their emissions by purchasing carbon offsets

Dr Cameron Hepburn, director of Climate Bridge Ltd, guided participants through some of the more controversial and difficult economic and ethical issues thrown up by climate change, and discussed the approach adopted by the Stern Review. The Stern Review, commissioned by the UK government to give the public the necessary understanding of the economics of Climate Change, is perhaps the most important report in the climate change area in the past few years. /sternreview_index.cfm, have received attention all over the world and promise to underlie climate policies in numerous jurisdictions for years to come. Cameron was a key contributor to the Stern Review, advising Sir Nicholas Stern on a variety of matters, most particularly discount rates in a climate context. -

The new office borders Huai Hai Road, perhaps Shanghai's most famous shopping and entertainment street, and is conveniently located near the Shanxi Nan Lu and Changshu Lu metro stations.
