ClimateBridge works with trusted partners who are carefully chosen. This is to ensure that we are able to provide our customers with:
- Real carbon offsets that represent genuine emission reductions;
- at the lowest cost.
We are continually seeking new projects that will reduce or eliminate sources greenhouse gas emissions. All projects must satisfy our two aims of genuine 'additional' reductions at the lowest possible cost. Whilst many projects (in China and elsewhere) are eligible for registration under the Clean Development Mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, some developers feel that the administrative costs, delay and uncertainty of this approach are excessively high.
Through our activities in the voluntary offset sector, we are able to provide an alternative route to finance such emission reductions. Although faster and less bureaucratic, we stress that the process of creating voluntary offsets is no less rigorous than the United Nations arrangements. We are willing to provide finance for certain projects that fulfil our criteria. We will also pay verification costs for some projects.
